Instone acquires property in Schorndorf – residential quarter planned in a growing mid-sized urban hub of the Stuttgart metropolitan region

Acquisition of a plot of approx. 5,000 m² in a central location. Development of a residential quarter planned; around 100 housing units and a daycare centre. Construction scheduled to begin in 2027. Old town and city centre within walking distance, direct connection to Stuttgart.

The nationwide residential developer Instone Real Estate (“Instone”) has acquired a plot measuring roughly 5,000 m² on Vorstadtstraße in Schorndorf from BayWa AG. Starting in 2027, a modern residential quarter with around 100 housing units and a daycare centre is set to be developed on the site. Just a few hundred metres away, the company has already completed the “s’Lederer” residential quarter.

“Schorndorf is an attractive and thriving location. The city combines proximity to the metropolis of Stuttgart with its own character, economic dynamism, and high quality of life. Here, we want to create a vibrant quarter that offers tangible added value for the city and its residents,” says Bianca Reinhardt Weith, Managing Director of Instone Real Estate Development GmbH. “With the acquisition of this plot and the immediate commencement of planning and realization of the new quarter, we are responding to the great demand for housing and care facilities in the growing city and at the same time expanding our nationwide project pipeline.”

The planned quarter is designed to offer a diverse range of options for different lifestyles – from compact apartments to family-friendly units. The planned daycare centre will provide additional childcare places. A central courtyard will ensure high-quality recreational space and a place for community and relaxation. Thanks to the central location, future residents will enjoy short distances: the historic old town is within walking distance, and the train station with direct connections to Stuttgart is only a few minutes away.

Mayor Bernd Hornikel: “We are pleased that Instone, an experienced and financially strong project partner, is once again investing locally in Schorndorf. This demonstrates what can be achieved through a trusting collaboration in our city over the long term. Instone’s continued commitment once again underlines the attractiveness of Schorndorf as a place to live and do business.”

Instone will carry out preparatory consultations on planning and implementation-relevant topics until the planned handover of the site at the end of 2026. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2027, once approval has been granted.
